FAQ:

What is this site all about?
The idea is fairly simple: To compile out-of-print, live, or otherwise unreleased music from New England bands/artists and make it all available for the public to download.

Who are you?
My name is Jarrod. I live in Lowell, MA. I run aNewLanguage.org, which serves multiple purposes, this being one of them. I'm also a musician, probably most known for playing guitar in Now Denial.

Is any profit being made from this? What's in it for you?
No profits are being made from the online music directory. The only thing I'm getting out of it is a lot of great music and the satisfaction of knowing I'm doing something good for the local music community. There is, however, a separate part of aNewLanguage that serves to provide web and graphic design. I do charge (or barter) for my design work, but that has nothing to do with this site really.

What's the "donate" link all about?
Like I said, there's no profit being made here. But I do pay a hosting bill for my webspace, and if anybody is feeling charitable I always accept donations towards the bill. Donations are accepted through PayPal and they go directly to the hosting bill, not to my bank account.

I'd like to contribute something to this site, what do I do?
If you are an artist/band from New England, and you give me permission to use your music on this site, I probably will. You can send me your music in digital format (mp3's must be at least 128kbps, preferably higher quality), or you can send CD's, tapes, or vinyl to me via the mail and I will rip it to mp3 format myself. I highly suggest that anybody contributing to the site look into getting a Creative Commons license. Check their site out for more info. And get in touch with me at jarrod@anewlanguage.org if you want to submit something.

Do you accept everything? Who decides what gets in and what doesn't?
I accept almost anything, but it's ultimately my decision, and if I don't want to put it on the site for whatever reason, that's just how it's going to be.
